OUR HISTORY
Rev. John E. Hollis, former pastor of Community Presbyterian Church conceptualized the Thomas B. Hargrave Educational Center in 1971. Rev. Hollis articulated to the Session (active elders of the church) the need for the center. The Session unanimously agreed to the construction and operation of a daycare center as part of the church. The center was established and accepted its first group of children in September, 1973.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
The main purpose for the establishment of the daycare center was to extend the mission of the church into the community. This is accomplished by providing all working parents the opportunity to place their pre-school children in an environment conducive to the development of educational readiness skills and sound Christian principles.
